Molicel

We designed and built the Molicel website in 2019 as a fully custom WordPress platform. Rather than relying on off-the-shelf themes or page builders, every layer was crafted from the ground up to fit how a battery manufacturer actually organizes and shares its information.

About the Client

Molicel is a leading manufacturer of high-performance lithium-ion battery cells, engineered for energy storage, electric vehicles, and demanding advanced applications. With operations across Taiwan and Canada and four decades of research behind its technology, the company supplies cells to market leaders in motorsports, aviation, medical devices, and power tools. Its audience is highly technical, so the website needed to present complex product data with clarity while reflecting the precision the brand is known for.

A Product System Powered by Tailored CMS

The project covered a custom theme and a tailored CMS structure, giving the Molicel team full control over their content without touching code. At the center is a product system built around two connected layers: a browsable product list and detailed spec pages for each cell. Because battery cells live or die on their technical numbers, the spec templates were designed to make dense data readable and easy to compare across models.

Alongside the product system, We developed a custom form system for enquiries, and a gated datasheet flow that asks visitors to complete a contact form before downloading. That last piece turned a simple download into a lead-generation touchpoint, capturing qualified interest from engineers and buyers evaluating Molicel's cells.

The result is a site that balances two goals: a polished, brand-appropriate presentation on the surface, and a flexible, maintainable content engine underneath that the team can keep running for years.
